We are looking for a confident, hard-working, efficient and organized full–time Hospitalist PA/Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to work in Kentfield Hospital in Kentfield, CA.

We are actively seeking a Hospitalist PA/ACNP to join our existing team at the Kentfield Hospital in Kentfield, CA. Located just about 13 miles from Presidio of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge- you’ll be working in the middle of a highly diverse environment with quick access to popular destinations, an incredible restaurants and night scene, beautiful views, and top-rated school districts.

Kentfield Hospital is a 60-bed licensed, Long-Term Acute Care hospital specializing in the care of complex medical and rehabilitation patients, who may require extended stays to achieve the best recovery possible.

Ideal candidates should possess strong skills in inpatient evidence-based medicine, interpersonal communication and resource management. PA/ACNP will be responsible for providing complete, comprehensive clinical care for all patients. PA/ACNP works collaboratively with all providers as a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive, compassionate health care to all patients.

This position requires patient admission, completing a thorough history and physical, entering orders, evaluation and management and follow-up treatment of patients till discharge. Perform functions under the medical supervision of a Physician. Requires daily rounding on the patients and formulation of a daily management plan of care. The PA/ACNP will be responsible for follow-up calls to the patient relatives and communication with the nurses on the floor.

EDUCATION, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE: MINIMUM REQUIRED:

1. Training and Experience:
• Successful completion of a graduate program for the education and preparation of Physican Assistants and Nurse Practitioners. The program shall be a master degree level or higher.
• Acute Care Hospital Experience strongly preferred .


2. FOR ACNPs: Licensure/Certification:


• Licensed as a registered nurse by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
• Certification as a nurse practitioner by the California board of Registered Nursing.
• Current BLS and ACLS Certification, current DEA certificate in CA license.


3. FOR PHYSICIAN ASSITANTS:

  • Graduate from an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant program by start date.
  • NCCPA certified at time of hire and maintained throughout career at AmpleHealth.
  • California State Physician Assistant License, issued by Physician Assistant Board under Medical Board of California by date of hire.
  • BLS/ACLS certification required.
  • Must have a Nat'l Provider Identifier (NPI), or obtain an NPI, prior to employment start date and meet current Medicare requirements for billin

PREFERRED:

-Minimum qualifications, and:

-Previous experience in acute inpatient setting.

-Candidates with ICU experience strongly desired.

HIGHLIGHTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Work autonomously while benefitting from strong physician support.
• Variable Shift Hours: 7AM-5 PM; 10 AM-8 PM.
• Evaluation and management of in-patients from admission till discharge.
• Perform timely dictation of history and physical and Discharge Summaries.
• Document detailed daily SOAP progress notes in the EMR.
• No Procedure requirements.
• Daily Census capped at 15.
